 Verified The Lavender Guest House-Great place to Stay!!
Lavender Guest House located in Clapham Junction area. The guest house is not far from Clapham J station. The guest house is VERY clean and well maintained. The owners are wonderful friendly people and will deliver with one's requests (ex. extra toilet paper, clean towels, blankets etc.), There are 2 kitchens one can use, if you wish to cook your own meals there and there is a supermarket at the end of the block of the guest house. There is also LOTS of restaurants, cafes and pubs to eat out both inexpensive and expensive. It's a VERY nice area, Very safe at night and always people around the area enjoying the evenings. The train station there has good and fast connections to get you anywhere around central london and outside of central london. Brighton is only one hour away from Lavender guest house. Wifi connection is excellent and they have USB ports to upload your mobil phones. If your traveling from outside of the UK, You will need to bring an adapter for your computer. UK uses Type G plug socket. Otherwise, this is definitely a great guest house to stay at while you are visiting London. - Peace S

Lavender Guest House is in lovely location, near to shops pubs and restaurants. Everything is with walk distance. The owner was very welcoming, friendly and made me feel comfortable. I love that there two kitchens that guests can use which was very handy

Lovely place, within easy walking distance of Clapham Junction. I had a small, cosy room. The very helpful staff always had a solution for any problem - usually of my own making - and, consequently, my stay was a stress-free delight. No hesitation in recommending the place.

Everything we needed plus more. Tony and Lisa were fabulous hosts. Warmly welcomed and orientated to house and even an early check in. The room (number 5) was tight for space but we did have a lot of stuff! Plenty of hanging/storage space however and we were hardly there as we used our room as storage and as a base while doing lots of trips out of London. Location is perfect - so so central. You can get anywhere from this location. Loved the conservatory kitchen and small garden out the back which we utilised often. We will definitely stay here again. Great find!

Tony and his sister are the loveliest people! Our credit card was stolen just prior to our trip and they allowed us to stay over extra- blocking off the room while we got the new one shipped to us. Absolutely fantastic stay, location and hosts!

 Verified Lovely stay in zone 2 at an affordable rate!
I had an amazing stay at The Lavender Guest House! The location was perfect, just a short walk from Clapham Junction (zone 2). My room was very clean and comfortable with both kettle and a private bathroom. There was access to a kitchen and garden downstairs too. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, always willing to answer our questions or provide recommendations. Very welcoming! Only thing to note is that the stairs could be a tad steep if you have mobility difficulties but there are also rooms on the ground floor. The Lavender Guest House is perfect for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in London at fantastic rates. (I have already booked my next stay!)

 Verified Full review of room 8 - small but comfortable, affordable, convenient but NO AIRCON
I stayed in this hotel for five nights in September of 2023. Overall, I had a very nice stay. The location is nice because there are a lot of dining and shopping options nearby, but it is not an area heavily traveled by tourists. It felt very local, and I didn't feel particularly unsafe even when walking late at night. The train station is an easy walk away, but you will have to make a transfer to get to most of the touristy areas of town. I didn't find this to be cumbersome, but it does add a few extra minutes to your commute. The hotel was always quiet, and Tony was extremely friendly and responsive. It felt like I'd met a new local friend who could help me with anything I'd need. I stayed in room 8 on the third floor. I didn't see any specific review of this room, so I'm going to try to give as much specific info as I can. The room is pretty small, but it was comfortable and I found it adequate as a single traveler. There is a queen sized bed, and there is a small table with a chair between the door and the bed. The bathroom has a shower stall with a sink next to it, but it is genuinely tiny, and I couldn’t get to the sink without turning sideways and squeezing between the shower and the wall. I also wasn't able to dry off without opening the bathroom door since it was so small, so this may be an issue depending on who you're travelling with. The toilet was in the opposite corner of the room in its own separate (very small) room. There was a decent sized closet built in one corner and the windows spanned basically the whole width of the wall. There is a fan on a ledge by the side of the bed opposite the door, and a TV hangs on the wall with the windows. This would be a very tight squeeze for two people due to having no place to store luggage. I would love to see the hotel replace the bed frame in this room with one that is tall enough to store luggage underneath so it could free up some floor space. Overall I had no issue with the size of the room, but I wanted to be detailed about it since it may be a deal breaker for people who need more space. The rest of the hotel was in good shape, and was clean and inviting. You have access to two kitchen and lounge areas, including access to refrigerators and cooking equipment. The front door always felt securely locked. There is no elevator/lift, but I didn't find the climb to the third floor to be cumbersome with average mobility. There was also great communication with Tony and his father, either by phone or by online message when they needed to update me on anything. This hotel does not have any air conditioning. Tony explained that they were not allowed to add it, so this is not a fault of the owners. However, even when it was in the 60sF outside, the room was uncomfortably warm inside. I had to sleep with the fan on and windows open every night, and even then there wasn't much of a breeze to cool it down. This also caused me to hear road noise early in the morning. Lack of air is the only reason I'd give four stars instead of five because I would not recommend staying here during the warmer months of the year. Overall, I would 100% stay here again if I was traveling at a time with cool or cold weather since the price was very reasonable, the room was comfortable, the location was relatively convenient, and the service was top notch. However, I would not stay here during the summer due to the lack of air conditioning.

Lovely guest house. Fantastic service from Tony & family. They were very welcoming & made life easy. Rooms were clean, well maintained, towels changed regularly. 2 fully accessible kitchen areas so you can manage food requirements. Easy access to Clapham common, buses, shops, and trains

  The person who runs it was very welcome. When we were not sure if we would arrive within normal check-in hours or when we will leave before normal check-out time there was no issue to arrange a solution that would work for both sides. The place is lovely and feels homey. The parking cost if you arrive by a car is reasonable compared to some other places in London. The public communication is easily available.

If we ever come to London we will definitely pick this place

One thing I will mention however. Since it is a Victorian era house the staircases are rather narrow. So if you have bigger luggage I would suggest booking a room on one of the lower floors or taking a few smaller pieces of luggage.

  El hotel es divino! Es pequeño y scone for. Las habitaciones son súper lindas, camas impecables. Todo súper limpio. Tienen dos espacios comunes muy cómodos y un jardín hermoso!   最高の宿でした。Victoria駅やWaterloo駅からはそれぞれ2駅でどこへ行くにもアクセスが良く、
近くに大型スーパーや公園、バス停があり、駅も近く、近所を散歩しても落ち着いた雰囲気であり適度に栄えてもいて安心感があります。
そして何よりとても宿の居心地が良い。
清潔でシンプルな居心地の良いお部屋と、1階に共用キッチンが2つあり、レンジや冷蔵庫、シンク、食器が揃っています。お庭もとても心地よいです。
とっても親切なオーナーさんご家族が会うたびに声をかけてくれて、ルールに縛られた接客ではなく、チェックアウト後もお庭でゆっくりしてていいよ、と言ってくださったり、とにかく居心地が良かったです。

  Lovely place to stay in London. Excellent room service, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean and cosy with all facilities required. We came with three children with erldest 3.5 yo and we were very comfortable. Nice addition is a kitchen available to use and an outdoor space to sit in. We will be staying again.

  We loved: the amazing location, the room's balcony, the cuteness of the outside, and the access to a kitchenette.

We struggled with the bed! It was very hard and came with flat pillows. My body would hurt every morning and I did not sleep well the whole time.

The room, bathroom, and staircase were all small and narrow, but it was easy to get used to that and, in the end, they sort of added to the charm of the place! I would totally return here if it weren't for how uncomfortable the bed was. Other than the bed, this place made for a great first experience to London on a budget.
